About Me

I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology at California State University, Chico, and my PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno. While in graduate school, my areas of specialty training were addictions and anxiety disorders. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center and received specialized training in psychological assessment, severe mental illness, behavioral medicine and health psychology, eating disorders treatment, chronic disease management, and pain psychology. My post-doctoral training under Dr. Sonny Ruckstuhl included advanced training in child and adolescent treatment, family therapy, and behavioral pediatrics and parent training. I am dually-licensed as a psychologist and a drug and alcohol counselor by the State of Nevada.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking the Sierras and Lake Tahoe with my wife, swimming in open water and Master’s competitions with my mom, and riding the roller coaster known as the San Francisco Giants with my dad.
